ביומוהי סליק נבוכדנאצר מלכא דבבל והוה ליה יהויקים עבדא תלת שנין ותב ומריד ביה:
byh wmryd wthb shnyn thlth ebda yhwyqym lyh whwh dbbl mlka nbwkdnatsr slyq bywmwhy
In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.

וגרי יי ביה ית משרית כסדאי וית משרית ארם וית משרית מואב וית משרית בני עמון וגרינון בדבית יהודה לאובדיהון כפתגמא דיי די מליל ביד עבדוהי נבייא:
nbyya ebdwhy byd mlyl dy dyy kpthgma lawbdyhwn yhwdh bdbyth wgrynwn emwn bny mshryth wyth mwab mshryth wyth arm mshryth wyth ksday mshryth yth byh yy wgry
Yahweh sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, bands of the Syrians, bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke by his servants the prophets.

ברם על דארגיזו קדם יי הות דא בדבית יהודה לאגליותהון מארעא בית שכינתיה בחובי מנשה ככל דעבד:
debd kkl mnshh bkhwby shkynthyh byth marea laglywthhwn yhwdh bdbyth da hwth yy qdm dargyzw el brm
Surely at the commandment of Yahweh this came on Judah, to remove them out of his sight for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

ואף דם זכאי דאשד ומלא ית ירושלם חובת דם זכאי הות רעוא קדם יי דלא למשבק:
lmshbq dla yy qdm rewa hwth zkay dm khwbth yrwshlm yth wmla dashd zkay dm wap
and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Yahweh would not pardon.

ושאר פתגמי יהויקים וכל די עבד הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכי דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth lmlky ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla ebd dy wkl yhwyqym pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

ושכיב יהויקים עם אבהתוהי ומלך יהויכין בריה תחותוהי:
thkhwthwhy bryh yhwykyn wmlk abhthwhy em yhwyqym wshkyb
So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

ולא אוסיף עוד מלכא דמצרים למפק מארעיה ארי נסיב מלכא דבבל מנחל מצרים עד נהר פרת כל דהוה למלכא דמצרים:
dmtsrym lmlka dhwh kl prth nhr ed mtsrym mnkhl dbbl mlka nsyb ary mareyh lmpq dmtsrym mlka ewd awsyp wla
The king of Egypt didn’t come out of his land any more; for the king of Babylon had taken, from the brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates, all that belonged to the king of Egypt.

בר תמני עסרי שנין יהויכין כד מלך ותלתא ירחין מלך בירושלם ושום אמיה נחשתא בת אלנתן מירושלם:
myrwshlm alnthn bth nkhshtha amyh wshwm byrwshlm mlk yrkhyn wthltha mlk kd yhwykyn shnyn esry thmny br
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

ועבד דביש קדם יי ככל דעבד אבוהי:
abwhy debd kkl yy qdm dbysh webd
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that his father had done.

בעדנא ההיא סליקו עבדי נבוכדנאצר מלכא דבבל לירושלם ועלת קרתא בצירא:
btsyra qrtha welth lyrwshlm dbbl mlka nbwkdnatsr ebdy slyqw hhya bedna
At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

ואתא נבוכדנאצר מלכא דבבל על קרתא ועבדוהי צירין עלה:
elh tsyryn webdwhy qrtha el dbbl mlka nbwkdnatsr watha
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it,
12
ונפק יהויכין מלך שבטא דבית יהודה על מלכא דבבל הוא ואמיה ועבדוהי ורברבוהי וגברוהי ודבר יתיה מלכא דבבל בשנת תמני לממלכיה:
lmmlkyh thmny bshnth dbbl mlka ythyh wdbr wgbrwhy wrbrbwhy webdwhy wamyh hwa dbbl mlka el yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk yhwykyn wnpq
and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon—he, his mother, his servants, his princes, and his officers; and the king of Babylon captured him in the eighth year of his reign.

ואפיק מתמן ית כל אוצרי בית מקדשא דיי וית אוצרי בית מלכא וקציץ ית כל מני דהבא דעבד שלמה מלכא דישראל בהיכלא דיי כמא די מליל יי:
yy mlyl dy kma dyy bhykla dyshral mlka shlmh debd dhba mny kl yth wqtsyts mlka byth awtsry wyth dyy mqdsha byth awtsry kl yth mthmn wapyq
He carried out from there all the treasures of Yahweh’s house and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in Yahweh’s temple, as Yahweh had said.

ואגלי ית כל ירושלם וית כל רברביא וית כל גברי חילא עסרא אלפין בגלותא וכל אומניא ותרעיא לא אשתאר אלהין חשיכי עמא דארעא:
darea ema khshyky alhyn ashthar la wthreya awmnya wkl bglwtha alpyn esra khyla gbry kl wyth rbrbya kl wyth yrwshlm kl yth wagly
He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. No one remained except the poorest people of the land.

ואגלי ית יהויכין לבבל וית אמא דמלכא וית נשי דמלכא וית רברבנוהי וית רברבי ארעא אוביל בגלותא מירושלם לבבל:
lbbl myrwshlm bglwtha awbyl area rbrby wyth rbrbnwhy wyth dmlka nshy wyth dmlka ama wyth lbbl yhwykyn yth wagly
He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, with the king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officers, and the chief men of the land. He carried them into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

וית כל גברי חילא שבעא אלפין אומניא ותרעיא אלפין כולהון גברין גברי עבדי קרבא ואיתינון מלכא דבבל בגלותא לבבל:
lbbl bglwtha dbbl mlka waythynwn qrba ebdy gbry gbryn kwlhwn alpyn wthreya awmnya alpyn shbea khyla gbry kl wyth
All the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and fit for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

ואמליך מלכא דבבל ית מתניה אח אבוהי תחותוהי ושוי ית שמיה צדקיהו:
tsdqyhw shmyh yth wshwy thkhwthwhy abwhy akh mthnyh yth dbbl mlka wamlyk
The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s father’s brother, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

בר עסרין וחדא שנין צדקיה כד מלך וחדא עסרי שנין מלך בירושלם ושום אמיה חמוטל בת ירמיה מן לבנה:
lbnh mn yrmyh bth khmwTl amyh wshwm byrwshlm mlk shnyn esry wkhda mlk kd tsdqyh shnyn wkhda esryn br
Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

ועבד דביש קדם יי ככל דעבד יהויקים:
yhwyqym debd kkl yy qdm dbysh webd
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
20
ארי על דארגיזו קדם יי הות בירושלם וביהודה עד דאגלי יתהון מארעא בית שכינתיה ומריד צדקיהו במלכא דבבל:
dbbl bmlka tsdqyhw wmryd shkynthyh byth marea ythhwn dagly ed wbyhwdh byrwshlm hwth yy qdm dargyzw el ary
For through the anger of Yahweh, this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
